Critical infrastructure

The enhanced SOCI rules are in force. Can you show where you stand?

Since 10 June 2026, owners of electricity, gas, water, liquid fuel, freight and other critical infrastructure assets must meet a higher bar in their critical infrastructure risk management program (CIRMP): a stronger cyber framework, segregated networks, vetted critical workers and a mapped supply chain. Much of the evidence lives in the physical and operational layer, which is where spreadsheets go stale first.

  1. 10 June 2026Enhanced CIRMP rules take effect
  2. 10 June 2027New material risks must be addressed
  3. 10 June 2028Every other enhanced measure in place

  • Segregate critical systems

Critical systems segregated so they can keep operating for at least three months while other computers are restored.

With CofferdamA record of which systems sit on which VLANs and subnets, with OT and corporate address ranges labelled and a device polled over an industrial protocol on a corporate range flagged on its page. It shows where things sit; your firewalls still do the segregating.

  • Map your supply chain

Map the supply chain for major suppliers and critical components, and assess major suppliers for foreign ownership, control or influence.

With CofferdamEach asset's vendor, model, firmware and end-of-support date on record, filled in from device captures or Trificta's end-of-life feed, or entered by hand, and matched against published advisories including CISA's ICS advisories. Assessing who owns each supplier stays with you.

  • Show who changed what

Know who can reach your critical systems, and be able to show what each person changed.

With CofferdamNew configuration Cofferdam pushes to a device needs a second person's approval, remote SSH sessions run through Cofferdam are recorded, and sign-ins, approval decisions and every change a person makes in Cofferdam's web interface or API are written to a signed, hash-chained audit log.

  • Plan for losing power

Understand what a failed power feed would take down, cooling included, and how long you could ride it out.

With CofferdamA feed-loss what-if shows which racks go dark, how long a UPS holds them and how long until the room reaches its thermal limit, with alerts when a rack's A and B feeds could not carry it alone or share an upstream panel.

Report to your board, every year

The annual CIRMP report must be approved by your board or council and lodged by 28 September.

With CofferdamOnce switched on, the SOCI CIRMP catalogue (Enterprise) checks 17 of its 19 controls every day against the data Cofferdam holds, signs each day's result, and exports it as an evidence pack: a report with the evidence and traceability behind each result. It is supporting evidence for your report, not the report.

Cofferdam gives you supporting evidence, not an audit: it records what it can see in the data it holds, and we will show you where the gaps are. It does not vet workers or assess who owns your suppliers. Advisory matching and thermal limits need the Professional edition; the SOCI catalogue, remote sessions and configuration write-back need Enterprise. This is general information, not legal advice.
